Black Bear Hunting is a time honored family tradition at Moose Horn Lodge. Since 1957, Moose Horn Lodge has been host to very satisfied hunting enthusiasts which acknowledge the bear hunting expertise that we have developed. Moose Hunting in the Fall can be the most rewarding experience. For our Moose hunt we have an unlimited number of calf tags and one bull tag for W.M.U. 35 which will be given to you on arrival. Moose Horn Lodge is 10 miles from the Chapleau Crown Game Preserve which is the biggest game preserve in the world. Our location is called the Black Bear Capital due to our area having the most dense population of Black Bears in the world. Our 2007 fall bear hunt success rate was 94% with a 241% sighting rate. Our success rate is more than three times the provincial average of 30%. This is why Moose Horn Lodge is well known all over North America. Black Bears in our area average anywhere between 150 and 300 pounds due to the abundance of food, wilderness location and the conservation management of Moose Horn Lodge. |
